Decorative timber screens
Decorative screens bring pattern, privacy and shade to gardens, patios, balconies and entrances. Slatted, laser-cut or lattice styles let you divide a space without closing it off, and they work equally well as a backdrop for planting. Check each product page for panel size, species and finish.

Planning your layout
Measure the run, decide on post spacing to suit the panel width, and order panels in full widths where possible. Add a spare panel if you are unsure about the final layout. Slatted screens give a more contemporary look, while lattice-style panels feel more traditional.
Fixing
Screens are normally fixed to posts, either set in concrete, bolted to base plates or held in post spurs. Allow a small gap between panel bottoms and the ground to keep the timber out of damp soil. Wind passes through open designs more easily, but solid-looking screens still need firm post fixing, so check ground conditions.
