Timber Focus has supplied a large new holiday resort development with timber cladding in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the North of England in excess of 2000m2 of timber cladding. The Cladding has managed to help blend the new developments to the Area of Natural Beauty.

The species and profiles that have been supplied include; Siberian Larch with the Channel half lap UYV/S, Rhombus, Square edge; Siberian Larch Secret Fix Tongue and Groove Profile and the Natural Grey weathered tone secret fix spruce with a 5 year coating performance warranty. The Cladding profiles where used in both horizontal and vertical applications. The quality of the timber was specified as A/B Grade mainly in 4.0mtr lengths for the cladding and 3.6 to 4.8mtr in the grey stained and fire retardant treated cladding. All supported on counter battens and cladding battens of 38×50 and 50x50mm all treated for UC3 minimum performance. The timber cladding and reveal boards where predominately Ex 25x150mm and the corners and louvres sections where the 45x45mm and 45x70mm.

In areas that the lodges and houses required to meet Building Regulations Approved  Document B fire safety, the Architect specified Whitewood spruce treated and painted white to meet EN13501-1 Euro Class B in the secret fix tongue and groove profile for both internal and external applications. The Fire retardant cladding was supplied through Puidukoda OU one of the few factories that hold full certification for supplying fire retardant timber cladding products.

The client and architect required cladding products that would blend in the surrounding areas and yet be very sustainable, green products hence chose all products that are FSC Certified and durable with a minimum of 25 years service life.
