Key Features of Timber Focus Western Red Cedar Shingles

1. Natural Durability

Western Red Cedar is naturally resistant to rot, decay, and insect infestations, making it a long-lasting solution for roofing and cladding. The wood’s natural preservatives help it stand up to moisture, ensuring your shingles maintain their quality and strength for decades.

2. Beautiful Aesthetic

Western Red Cedar shingles are renowned for their rich red-brown hues and striking grain patterns, which add warmth and character to any building. Over time, these shingles develop a distinguished silver-grey patina, enhancing the beauty of your home or commercial property.

3. Sustainably Sourced

At Timber Focus, we are committed to sustainability. Our Western Red Cedar shingles are PEFC-certified, meaning they are sourced from responsibly managed forests. This makes them an eco-friendly choice for environmentally conscious architects, builders, and homeowners.

4. Lightweight and Easy to Install

Western Red Cedar shingles are lightweight, making them easier to handle and install compared to heavier materials like tiles or slates. They are perfect for both DIY projects and professional installations, saving time and effort during construction.

5. Thermal and Acoustic Insulation

Western Red Cedar naturally provides excellent thermal insulation, helping to regulate indoor temperatures by keeping homes warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Additionally, these shingles offer soundproofing qualities, making them ideal for noise reduction in both residential and commercial settings.

6. Fire-Retardant Options

Timber Focus offers fire-retardant-treated Western Red Cedar shingles, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations. These treated shingles offer increased fire protection without compromising on aesthetics, making them ideal for projects requiring enhanced safety measures. Please contact us if you require further information or treatment.

7. Longevity

With proper maintenance, Western Red Cedar shingles can last for 40 to 60 years, offering a durable, long-term solution for both roofing and cladding. Their longevity makes them an  economic  choice in the long run, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
