Barnwood / Burnt / Charred / Scorched Timber / Aged Old Reclaimed Timber
Salzburg are cladding planks from old farm barns and stables in the Austrian Alps. Over the years the boards have weathered this is due to the effects of wind, snow, rain and sun etc. The boards have been sorted for colour and have been kiln dried to about 12%. After kilning the boards have been planed regularised to appx 20mm thickness and tongue and grooved and finally brushed. This intern gives the shabby chic look for use in internal applications e.g internal cladding, feature walls. The cladding boards are supplied in random widths with tongue and groove (T&G). The timber widths range from 120mm to 150mm and the length varies from 1500mm to appx 3500 mm supplied mainly in specific lengths. The boards are supplied as FSC Recycled. A similar look can be achieved with the Geneva stock allowing a lot more character as it is supplied in random width and thickness.

After many years of service ships and vessels return to Antwerp or Amsterdam where we recover good hardwood decking for use in Barnwood range. Due to our care for the environment and sustainability Barnwood Ekki comes with FSC Recycled CoC Certification making it very unique for Ekki.
The Barnwood has weathered due the exposure to the harsh elements to give it a very rustic or character look.We brush the decking and ensure that the original decking fixing holes exist to add to the timbers character and ready to be reused.

CHARRED-BURNT-SCORCHED-CLADDING – CHARRED BURNT LARCH CLADDING
The process of charring, burning or scorching of exterior timber is a traditional Japanese technique of enhancing the aesthetics and durability of the timber by charring or burning timber creating a carbon layer around the exposed faces. The timber is blackend burnt charred – we supply this in various profiles and we keep charred timber in stock for prompt delivery. Burning or charring technique can be applied to different designs textures and species.We always recommend using samples and images for clarity and options.
Barnwood Pennsylvania is reclaimed oak from old barns and stalls from the North East from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, USA. Weathered barn wood is the original, exterior weathered surface of barn cladding weatherboarding. It comes in in silvery grey and has texture variations caused by years of wind, weather and wear giving it a perfect look for character and rustic aged timber cladding requirements. We have resawn the long edges to give straight edges for regularising for ease of installation. This is a premium engineered board ideal for cabinet manufacture doors, feature walls etc. These are supplied in full sheets 2440 x 1220 x 19mm / 20mm. The top layer or face of the board is original reclaimed wood from old barns in Austria which has been kilned down to 12% for use internal applications, it is then cleaned brushed and sorted for colour i.e Grey, Dark Brown and Light Brown. It is then glued onto blockboard to give the rigid reclaimed board.
GENEVE – GREY AND MIXED TONES
This character at its best mixed colours, mixed species, mixed thicknesses from 20mm to 30mm and random widths and lengths. We can also select for the Grey to give a more consistent colour compared to the mixed tones. Geneve originates from the Alps where boards have been in use for over 50years in external applications and endured the harsh elements. Evident in the character you can identify erosion of the sapwood and the heartwood pretty much in tact including the evidence between the latewood and earlywood rings.It ideal product for a woodworker or joiner.
We re-kiln dry the boards to ensure that the moisture content is suitable for internal applications and furniture. We supply Geneve as FSC Recycled.
