Assago,
13th May 2003
FIRST
COURSE IN THE “ADVANCED WOODWORKING TRAINING
CENTER” IN BANGALORE, A JOINT PROJECT OF IWST,
ACIMALL AND ICE
17
students “opened up” the “Advanced
woodworking training center” in Bangalore,
Karnataka State, India. On the 30th of last April,
the center officially started the first course on
woodworking technology organized by the training
center, created in the premises of the local Institute
of wood science and technology and representing
the result of a joint project among the already
mentioned Indian Institute, Acimall and Ice, the
Italian Foreign Trade Institute. The scheduled courses,
held at the Iwst in Bangalore, are organized in
three different “modules”,
each lasting two working weeks. The first module
is dedicated to “woodworking basics“,
the second one to “basic mechanical machining”,
while the third one focuses on “advanced mechanical
machining”.
Each course is attended by some twenty people on
average and total annual participation is estimated
around 700 people, who will be able to benefit from
this opportunity every year.
Machines and materials for this particular initiative
promoting the “made in Italy” woodworking
philosophy were offered by 26 Italian companies,
who equipped an efficient traditional joiner’s
shop able to process both solid wood and panels.
Here are the companies in alphabetical order: Acm,
Alfamacchine, Bma, Balducci, Coral, Fantoni, Fimac,
Framar, F.lli Bini, Freud Pozzo, Gamma Zinken, Grifo,
Lazzari, Leitz Italia, Maggi Engineering, Metal
World, Omga, Ormamacchine, Paoloni macchine, Pizzi,
Sicar, Utensilegno, Utensili Spl, Vitap, Veba Meccanica.
“I
must say – said Giancarlo Anselmi,
Acimall Vicepresident – that the board
of directors of our association had decided to revise
the promotion methods we had used for several years,
therefore we wanted to create a sort of worldwide
network, a series of centers located in those countries
where traditional promotion had proved to be inadequate
to achieve tangible results.
However, I would also like to add –
explained Anselmi – that this first deployment
will surely give positive results for Italian machinery,
without considering the undoubtedly noble social
value. The aim is certainly to promote the penetration
of Italian machines, but we do not have to forget
that our promotion in India is combined with a process
aimed at giving more development chances, creating
a clean and safe working environment, providing
a concrete possibility of professional and economic
growth and, therefore, an improvement in the living
quality of a significant number of families.”
